Originally from Ecuador, Attorney Jennifer Velarde immigrated to the United States at the age of 11. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Rutgers University, Newark Campus and a Juris Doctor from the University of Massachusetts School of Law, Jennifer founded The Law Office of Jennifer Velarde in 2013. Jennifer is dedicated to fighting on behalf of immigrant families and for social justice in her community and has extensive experience representing clients in complex Immigration and Probate and Family law matters. Jennifer has received many recognitions due to her commitment to provide legal services for indigent families and low-income clients. Some of the recognitions include: a recognition by “The Marquis Who’s Who”. In 2022, Jennifer was named “Best Probate Lawyer in New Bedford” by Expertise.com. Jennifer commitment to service began during the time she was in college and then in law school by volunteering for several organizations. She has built a successful law firm while remaining committed to providing pro bono services for indigent and low-income clients. In addition to working on various social justice projects, she has served on the Board of the Immigrant Assistance Center, and she is a generous donor of the Immigrant Assistance Center, Justice at Work, Centro Comunitario de Trabajadores, organizations that advocates for immigrant rights, and for social justice rights. Jennifer strives to instill a culture of integrity, quality, respect and service within her law firm.
